Magnum Founders Platinum Portfolio

Price: Call for Price

In honor of their 60th anniversary, Magnum Photos has commissioned Verso Limited Editions to produce a hand-bound collection of limited-edition platinum prints by Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and David Seymour. Magnum Founders is published in cooperation with the estates of the four founders, with a foreword by Elliott Erwitt.

Each handcrafted book contains twelve original, bound platinum prints (three from each photographer, as pictured at left) and one free-standing 14 x 16 inch platinum print by Robert Capa (pictured bottom left). The edition is limited to 75 numbered, estate-stamped copies, created using the finest traditional processes and materials. The text is handset and letter-pressed on 100% cotton-rag paper. The platinum prints exhibit an unusually broad tonal range and rich, yet delicate detail. Each book is individually bound, encased in a custom clamshell and a solid walnut box.

With only 3 copies remaining available, this is a rare opportunity to invest in some of the most iconic images of the twentieth century. A portion of proceeds will go to The Magnum Foundation to help support the next generation of socially conscious photographers.

Cost: $14,500

This book is available for purchase by appointment only. For more information on availability and viewing opportunities please contact Jennifer Tripp at Magnum Photos at 212.929.6000 x104 or jennifer@magnumphotos.com
