Between 1950 and 1961 Burt Glinn shot more than 250 American subjects for LIFE magazine. They vary from the light-hearted (Animals on TV) to the tragic (Thanksgiving Plane Crash). In this image taken in 1979, Glinn photographed a lipstick factory for Avon.
