Lindokuhle Sobekwa emerged as a photographer when he took part in the Of Soul and Joy program in 2012. His first exhibition was held in 2013, followed by publication of his photographic essay Nyaope, in various magazines the following year. Sobekwa exhibited alongside Mikhael Subotzky in Cape Town in 2021, and staged his first exhibition at a Dutch museum in 2022. He became a full member of Magnum Photos in 2022.
