Since its founding in 1947, Magnum photographers have collaborated with some of cinema’s most celebrated stars and directors. One of the agency’s founders, Robert Capa, moved easily within the film world, counting Humphrey Bogart, Billy Wilder, and especially John Huston among his close friends. His connections opened the doors of Hollywood to fellow Magnum photographers, granting them rare access to its charmed and often private world.
